HydroShield PROFESSIONAL STONE SEALER is a highly advanced solvent-based flouropolymer that when applied on stone surfaces creates a long lasting invisible barrier. The barrier that is created virtually locks out oils, grease, water, stains and dirt. It is a penetrating sealer that does not affect the appearance of the stone except that it may enhance the stone color in some instances. The sealer is colorless and clear. Unlike other solvent- based sealers, it has no strong odor.

Uses

HydroShield PROFESSIONAL STONE SEALER is designed for natural stone such as: marble, limestone, travertine, granite and sandstone. It also protects manufactured stone such as concrete, brick, saltillo and quarry tile as well as grout joints. This sealer also acts as a grout release. The sealed surfaces repel water so mold and mildew do not have a chance to grow in
grout joints. This sealer is especially recommended for areas that are highly exposed to water, such as showers or pool areas, and for the prevention of efflorescence.

Preperation

The surface should be clean, dry, and free of waxes or other surface coatings. New cement and grout joints should be allowed to fully dry prior to application.

Application

Due to differences in the structure and chemical nature of different stones, always test HydroShield PROFESSIONAL STONE SEALER in a small inconspicuous area to determine the effect for your particular use. Apply the seal in an even and generous layer onto the stone surface with a new clean brush, lambs wool applicator, a dense sponge or a paint roller. On polished stone, allow to dry for one hour then remove excess residue. The excess residue is cleaned by buffing with a dry cloth. If residue over dries and becomes too hard to buff off, reapply a small amount of HydroShield PROFESSIONAL SEALER or mineral sprits, then buff off the residue. Very porous stone will soak up all the sealer and no cleaning is necessary. Very porous stone will require a second application after the first application had dried. Allow to soak and cure on the surface for at least 2-4 hours before applying a second coat, depending on how porous the surface is. On polished stone, HydroShield PROFESSIONAL STONE SEALER cures fully over a 24 hour period.
